For over four decades, the Portland Branch of the NAACP has worked to further the political, educational, social and economic equality of African-Americans and other minority groups both locally and regionally.
From the freedom marches of the 1960’s to the human rights activitism of today, on the streets and in schools, churches, and lawmakers’ offices, we have been a voice of conscience and fairness for the citizens of Portland and the State of Maine.
